Abstract

The author deals with the problem of humanism in the philosophy of existence.Taken into a consideration are the features of humanism within the work of Jaspers, Sartre,Marleau-Ponty and Heidegger, but also the possibility of deviation from the classical form ofhumanism, or even the whole rejection of the position of humanism. Differing from Jaspers,Sartre and Marleau-Ponty, which had clearly induced humanism as their orientation, Heidegger’sphilosophy had given room for the understanding of his standpoint as being anti-humanistic (Badiou),transhumanistic/posthumanistic (Sloterdijk), or even as being the highest form of metaphysicalhumanism (Derrida).
