WHAT CAN WE EXPECT FROM VATTIMO’S “WEAK THOUGHT”?
Main Article Content
Abstract
If we are to correctly understand the true character of Vattimo’s hermeneutics (hermeneutic ontology as an ontology of actuality) we must not oversee one of the key steps in its thinking – pragmatism. Hermeneutic ontology must show its readiness to also cooperate with the inheritance of modernistic paradigms, if it wants to, maybe paradoxically, strengthen and further away work up its contours. At the same time, that represents both the prerequisite and the call for a different approach in thinking about the concept of subjectivity, as well as the Christian charity, from which Vattimo expects a lot. This paper analyzes how much these expectations are justifiable.
