Abstract
This paper provides one possible reading of the fi rst defi nition of knowledge ina dialogue Theaetetus, defi nition of knowledge as perception, focusing on Plato’s criticism ofProtagoras’ doctrine in order to show two things. First, that the criticism of Protagoras’ doctrineis criticism of certain concept of perception, but not Plato’s critique of perception as knowledge.Second, that the logic of refutation of Protagoras’ doctrine is fully congruent with the logic of thelast two inquiries of the hypothesis “One is not” in the dialogue Parmenides.
